Depart from St. Johns with West Jet at 3:50pm via Halifax arrive Dublin 7:30am. Meet our driver/guide and head to Galway. Breakfast stop shortly after leaving airport and another rest stop before arriving in Galway for a 2 night stay at Flannery’s Hotel. Free time and welcome session before dinner at the hotel.
Sunday, September 20
The Connemara region, steeped in beauty and culture. Kylemore Abbey is the main stop today, along with visits to Connemara Marble and Celtic Crystal. Dinner at hotel
Monday, September 21
Depart for Killaloe. Hold on to your hats! A visit to the Cliffs of Moherand then a river cruise before checking in to the Lakeside Hotel for 2 nights. Dinner included at hotel.
Tuesday, September 22
One of my favourite sites, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and then a tour of Limerick City. Back in time to explore the picturesque town of Killaloe. Dinner on your own.
Wednesday, September 23
Depart for Killarney via beautiful Adare and the very scenic Dingle Peninsula for perhaps the best sea food in Ireland. Check into the Eviston Hotel for 3 nights. A fabulous dinner and show out tonight at Muckross Irish Night!
Thursday, September 24
Free day to relax and explore Killarney. National Park, shops, pubs. Everything is within walking distance of our hotel! Dinner on your own
Friday, September 25
Regarded as one of the most scenic drives in Ireland. A photographer’s dream, the Ring of Kerry. Dinner in hotel.
Saturday, September 26
Depart for Cobh via Blarney Castle. Do you dare to kiss the Stone and gain the gift of eloquence (or gab, as we would say)? Next, it’s on to Cork city and the amazing Nano Nagle Place. Aquick tour of Cork and then our hotel in historic Cobh for one night.Dinner on your own.
Sunday, September 27
Depart for Clonmel via the always interesting Midleton Distillery followed by a special stop at one of my favourite pubs. Minella Hotel for 3 nights with dinner every night
Monday, September 28
A wonderful day of castles and history with a quirky pub to finish it off! Cahir Castle, Rock of Cashel, town of Fethard and McCarthy’s Pub
Tuesday, September 29
A tale of two cities! In the morning it’s Kilkenny, the Marble City, perhaps the most medieval city in Irelandandthen Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland, in the afternoon.
Wednesday, September 30
Depart for Dublin via New Rossand experience what it was like on a famine ship! On to Glendalough, a 6th century monastic site. Academy Plaza for 3 nights. Dinner at hotel.
Thursday, October 1
Historic archaeology. Newgrange, megalithic passage tombs older than the pyramids! Scenic drive back to the hotel.A very special dinner in a pub with storytelling and music
Friday, October 2
Free day in Dublin. Our perfectly situated hotel makes for an ideal base to explore this wonderful fair city. I will have suggestions on what to do. Farewell dinner at hotel
Saturday, October 3
Early rise to fly home at 9:00am via Halifax in St. John’s 3:15pm
- A Passport valid through at least October, 2020 is required
- Dress code is casual. A good jacket and walking shoes are recommended
